B’nai Portland Values Statement:

B’nai Portland welcomes individuals, couples and families of mixed faiths with interest in Jewish practice and will provide cultural, ritualistic and educational resources to both spiritual and humanistic Jewish individuals and families.

B’nai Portland’s Vision:
B’nai Portland provides a wide array of religious offerings. In addition to religious school, B’nai Portland serves the evolving needs for the greater Portland Jewish community by:

  • Facilitating Shabbat (Sabbath) and holiday prayer services under the leadership of our rabbi.
  • Leading, facilitating and sharing communal experiences such as lifecycle events like baby naming, B’nai Mitzvot, conversions, weddings, funerals, Jewish learning, Jewish celebrations, and more.
  • Satisfy what’s considered to be an unmet need in local Jewish practice. B’nai Portland will welcome couples and families of mixed faiths with interest in Jewish spiritual practice. B’nai Portland will provide cultural, ritual and educational resources to both spiritual and humanistic Jewish individuals and families.

We are a non-profit organization to provide opportunities for like-minded philanthropic supporters to share our purpose using tax-deductible donations and utilize a board of directors to create more diversity of thought and expertise about policies and practices and to create more bandwidth that can be applied to the expanding workload that providing more services will incur.
